On the ensuing possession MSU turned the ball over on its second play when Bradshaw Littlejohn’s pass was picked-off by LB Justin Durant at the Bears’ 27-yard line. The Bears’ defense stiffened and held the Pirates to a Andrew Paterini field goal to help his team take a 9-0 lead with 10:20 remaining in the first quarter.
